Join us for highlights of the Society for the Improvement of Diagnosis in Medicine’s (SIDM) 8th International Diagnostic Error in Medicine Conference recently held in Washington DC. The focus of this year’s conference was the just-published Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) report Improving Diagnosis in Health Care.
The conference brought together doctors, trainees, nurses and other allied health professionals with patients and policy-makers to discuss the implications of the report and map out strategies to improve the accuracy and timeliness of medical diagnosis.
Here are highlights and summaries of Day 1 of 3 of the conference.

You missed Dr Ely and his checklists in the show notes. Great episode. Thanks.
I went ahead and posted links to Dr. Ely’s article and to the outstanding Diagnostic Checklist Website where Dr. Ely has updated his work on my post “Clinician Checklists” To Improve Medical Diagnosis From The SIDM With Additional Resources.
